How St. Lucie Public Schools Has Embraced the Challenge of Providing a Twenty-First Century Education

St. Lucie Public Schools, a K–12 district serving about 41,000 students in Port St. Lucie, Florida, faced the challenge of delivering equitable, twenty‑first‑century education—accelerated by COVID‑19—and needed tools for granular student insight, secure device management, and remote collaboration. The district partnered with Microsoft Power Apps and the broader Microsoft ecosystem (Power BI, Intune, Office 365, Windows 10) to rethink pedagogy, communication, and technology deployment across the district.

Microsoft Power Apps helped implement Power BI dashboards for weekly leadership reviews and student‑level analytics, Intune for rapid one‑to‑one device provisioning and security, and Office 365/Teams/OneNote for classroom collaboration. The result: thousands of devices deployed in days with self‑provisioning logins, targeted summer and intervention programs driven by data, widespread teacher and student innovations, and measurable impact—St. Lucie’s graduation rate rose from 68% in 2013 to over 94.2% recently while supporting all 41,000 students.
