Helpdesk employee leads Pinnacle Group’s transition from paper to digital through Power Platform

Pinnacle Group, a large UK professional services organisation, faced paper-driven, error-prone and time-consuming processes for health & safety audits, profit-center management and idea capture. To modernise these workflows without heavy coding, they adopted Microsoft Power Apps as part of the Power Platform—using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse for Teams and SharePoint—to enable citizen development and digitise core processes.

Using Microsoft Power Apps, citizen developer Sancho Harker built 17 production solutions (accessible standalone or embedded in Teams) to automate audits, centralise profit-center data and capture innovation ideas, with Power Automate handling approvals and Power BI delivering real-time reporting. The Microsoft Power Apps implementations created a single source of truth and measurable impact: about 6,000 printed pages saved per year, 4–5 hours saved annually on manual reconciliation, 50 hours saved annually on data entry/photo capture, and recruitment automation projected to save up to £500,000 per year.
