A Microsoft Power Apps Case Study
Kajima Corporation, a leading general construction firm pursuing its Kajima Smart Future Vision, faced chronic inefficiencies from analog information management, a shrinking skilled workforce, and the need to digitize and flatten communications across large, multi-contractor worksites. To address these challenges the Yokohama branch adopted Microsoft Power Apps (part of the Microsoft Power Platform) alongside Microsoft Forms, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams to enable simple, smartphone-based data capture and remote collaboration.
Using Microsoft Power Apps and the broader Microsoft Power Platform, teams built low‑code systems—an interior progress management app, fittings tracking, and a material-transport scheduler—feeding data via Forms and Power Automate into shared charts and Power BI visualizations accessible in Teams. The Microsoft Power Apps–driven solutions cut workload and sped decision‑making, rolled out to new sites in 1–2 days, supported companywide Teams adoption during COVID-19, and delivered measurable gains (over 10% improvement in yield for light gauge steel/board work and more than 20% improvement in wallpaper work).
