A Microsoft Power Apps Case Study
Dayton Children's Hospital, a major pediatric health provider with hundreds of thousands of annual visits, struggled with fragmented patient data across clinical systems, call logs, and marketing tools that prevented care teams and marketers from getting a complete, timely view of patient interactions. To close that gap and maintain HIPAA compliance, the hospital worked with Microsoft Power Apps and deployed Dynamics 365 Customer Insights—integrating Azure Blob Storage and Dynamics 365 Marketing—to create a single, secure source of truth for patient activity and demographics.
Using Microsoft Power Apps technologies, Dayton Children's Hospital implemented Dynamics 365 Customer Insights in under two months, map/match/merge processes producing roughly 150,000 unified patient profiles and ingesting several million call-log interactions into activity timelines. The HIPAA‑compliant solution gave care teams 360-degree patient views for better follow‑up, enabled marketers to create dynamic segments (pushed to Dynamics 365 Marketing) such as local female student athletes, and provided KPIs to track activity counts and dates to measure ongoing impact.
