CATA Center for Astrophysics simultaneously connects more than 300 schools over 4,300 kilometers with the help of Microsoft Teams

Centro de Astrofísica CATA wanted to engage students nationwide on Astronomy Day with a live experiment to measure the planet’s radius, a challenge that required real-time collaboration and data sharing across vast distances. They partnered with Microsoft Power Apps and used Microsoft Teams (and Power Apps) to coordinate the activity and gather measurements.

By using Microsoft Teams for live connections and Microsoft Power Apps to collect and display data, Microsoft Power Apps enabled Centro de Astrofísica CATA to simultaneously connect more than 300 schools across 4,300 kilometers and let participants see measurements as they occurred. The event delivered measurable STEM outreach at scale—300 schools engaged across 4,300 km—demonstrating the impact of Microsoft Power Apps.
