A Microsoft Power Apps Case Study
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is England’s regulator for health and social care, overseeing more than 50,000 providers and protecting care for over 55 million people. Faced with decade-old, paper-based processes and a need to move from scheduled inspections to a real‑time, data‑driven assurance model, CQC turned to Microsoft Power Apps (alongside Dynamics 365 Customer Service Enterprise and Dynamics 365 Customer Voice) to modernize inspections, data capture, and reporting.
Using Microsoft Power Apps to build a mobile inspection app and Dynamics 365 plus Customer Voice for data collection and surveys, CQC and partners quickly developed an Emergency Support Framework—producing a working prototype within a week—and surveyed more than 10,000 home care providers. The solution enabled an appointment booking system that reached about 1.6 million social care staff for COVID testing, reduced report processing from up to 10 days to immediate submission, improved rapid decision‑making, and earned CQC formal thanks from the Secretary of State for Health.
