A Microsoft Power Apps Case Study
The Canadian Mental Health Association Peel Dufferin, a medium‑sized mental health and addictions provider in Ontario, needed to move away from on‑premises servers so clinicians could work remotely, protect client data, and let a two‑person IT team focus on services rather than infrastructure. To modernize communication and care delivery—especially when COVID‑19 forced in‑person services to stop—the organization adopted Microsoft 365, Teams, Azure and Microsoft Power Apps with partner Dapasoft (iSecurity Consulting).
Dapasoft used Microsoft Power Apps (the Crisis Communication App template) together with Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Power Automate and Azure to secure the cloud environment, streamline workflows, and enable rapid no‑/low‑code app configuration. The migration let staff deliver telemedicine and peer support (more than 500 group sessions in five months), resolved document version issues, expanded education revenue opportunities, and freed IT from infrastructure management—deploying solutions in hours rather than days while protecting client data with Azure AD and Microsoft Information Protection.
