Barnsley Hospital improves patient and clinician experience with Microsoft Teams

Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust needed a more intuitive, low-friction solution for video consultations: clinicians did not want to rekey data, log into multiple systems, or adopt a new platform — they already used Microsoft Teams daily. To address this, the Trust worked with Microsoft Power Apps, leveraging the Power Platform and Microsoft Azure services alongside Teams.

Microsoft Power Apps delivered a digital health platform run on Microsoft Azure and the NHS national tenant, integrating Microsoft Teams and Power Platform automations so clinicians could stay in a single familiar interface. The solution removed the need for rekeying data and avoided extra logins, resulting in a much more user‑friendly video consultation experience for patients and clinicians and streamlined workflows across the Trust.
