VITAS Healthcare improves patient care and saves a million pieces of paper using Microsoft Power Platform

VITAS Healthcare, an end-of-life care provider operating in 14 US states and the District of Columbia, faced heavy paperwork burdens for hospice aides and office staff and sought to improve the experience for patients and families. To address these challenges, VITAS partnered with Microsoft Power Apps to digitize and streamline documentation and care workflows.

Using Microsoft Power Apps (part of the Microsoft Power Platform), VITAS deployed a mobile documentation solution and mobile care plans that reduced payroll reconciliation time, improved team collaboration, and freed clinicians to spend more time with patients. The Microsoft Power Apps implementation saved an estimated 100,000 hours in payroll reconciliation in one year and eliminated about a million pieces of paper, while improving interactions with patients and families.
