ZPMC (Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co., Ltd.), a leading port‑machinery manufacturer, needed a simpler, scalable way to collect, monitor and analyze thousands of real‑time signals from quay cranes, gantries and AGVs as it moved from on‑premises systems to a cloud service model. To address this, ZPMC adopted Microsoft technologies including Azure, Azure IoT Hub, Azure Stream Analytics and Microsoft Power BI for dashboards and interactive reporting.

Using Azure IoT Hub to ingest device and alarm messages, Stream Analytics to process streams, Azure SQL/Blob for storage, and Microsoft Power BI to visualize the outcomes, the solution centralized machine data and delivered near‑real‑time dashboards, alarm notifications and global monitoring. The Microsoft implementation improved data ingestion scalability and security (AMQP transport and transparent database encryption) and established a foundation for predictive maintenance and expanded remote‑monitoring services.
