Case Study: WWF Brazil achieves 10% productivity gain and real-time donor reporting with Microsoft Power BI

A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Preview of the WWF Brazil Case Study

WWF Brazil focuses on saving the planet with more efficient project management

WWF Brazil, the Brazilian arm of the World Wide Fund for Nature, faced slow, spreadsheet-based project and budget tracking across five offices that consumed up to 40% of the project management office’s time and made it hard to demonstrate value to donors. To modernize visibility and reporting the nonprofit chose Microsoft Project Online and data visualization with Microsoft Power BI, seeking a cloud-based, scalable solution that integrated with its Office 365 environment.

With partner IUNEX, Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Project Online centralized project sites, KPIs and near-real-time dashboards; within a year WWF Brazil was running 98 projects (85% of operations), cut reporting waits from up to 30 days to immediate access, restored donor trust, and achieved a 10% increase in productivity. The improved transparency even attracted interest from the Minister of the Environment for a $13M project, showing clear, measurable impact from the Microsoft Power BI–enabled implementation.
