Volpara is a Wellington-based digital health company (Volpara Health Technologies Ltd) that builds VolparaEnterprise, a cloud SaaS that analyses mammograms to measure breast density and image quality. Faced with very large medical image files, strict compliance needs and a requirement to deliver objective, benchmarked quality metrics to clinicians and clinics worldwide, Volpara needed a scalable, secure cloud platform to get its analytics to market quickly.

Volpara implemented its solution on Microsoft Azure and used Microsoft Power BI to deliver dynamic, interactive dashboards and real‑time business intelligence to technologists and clinic managers. The Microsoft Power BI-enabled solution let Volpara move to a fully PaaS architecture (no dedicated VMs), improve security and compliance, provide objective measurements and benchmarking across customers, accelerate time to market, and reduce infrastructure overhead while enabling ongoing feature delivery and better clinical quality assurance.
