University of Pardubice, a Czech university of about 1,200 staff and 7,000 students, needed to strengthen IT security and keep teaching running during the COVID-19 disruption. The university adopted Azure and Microsoft 365 tools—including Microsoft Teams for remote teaching and security products such as Azure Sentinel and Microsoft Defender—and used Microsoft Power BI (with partner Dolphin Consulting) to improve reporting and data-driven decision making.

Using Azure Sentinel and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Office 365 and Cloud Apps, plus Microsoft 365 collaboration tools, the vendor helped the university secure environments, manage devices remotely, and deliver more than 70% of classes via Teams during lockdown. Microsoft Power BI, fed by Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL Database, provided self-service reports that detected an 80% rise in interest from foreign applicants early and helped reduce time spent resolving security incidents by 80%, improving compliance, collaboration, and operational planning.
