Preview of the G&J Pepsi Case Study

Transforming in-store merchandising and auditing to achieve targeted business goals

G&J Pepsi, a large Pepsi-Cola bottler with more than 1,600 employees and 900+ field staff, needed to modernize its paper-based store auditing and merchandising processes to gain efficiency, visibility, and faster customer response. The company turned to Microsoft Power BI and other Microsoft cloud services—Microsoft PowerApps, Microsoft Flow, Office 365, SharePoint Online and OneDrive—to create mobile, on-the-go solutions without hiring professional developers.

The seven-person IT team used Microsoft PowerApps to build Store Audit and merchandiser apps, Microsoft Flow to trigger alerts, and Microsoft Power BI dashboards to visualize results, deploying eight apps in a matter of weeks. The solution captured more than 15,000 surveys, reached 900+ field reps, and saved about $500,000 in the first year (including avoiding a $240,000 outsourced merchandising app), while delivering real-time data, faster issue resolution, and improved customer communication.
