Case Study: Bristol City Council achieves digital transformation and remote work with Microsoft Power BI

A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Preview of the Bristol City Council Case Study

Towards a fair, healthy, inclusive and sustainable city

Bristol City Council, the unitary authority serving a city of about 463,000 people and 6,500 staff, was struggling with aging, non-mobile IT systems that limited collaboration, agility, and service innovation. To modernize its infrastructure and improve both citizen and internal services, the council worked with Microsoft Power BI as part of a broader Microsoft cloud modernization program.

Microsoft Power BI helped support the migration of 54 workloads across three clouds and the deployment of Dynamics CRM, Teams, and Power BI analytics, alongside Azure, SharePoint Online, and Office 365. The result was a secure cloud foundation that enabled almost all of the council’s 4,000 computer users to work remotely, improved collaboration and productivity, and helped reshape the IT team toward innovation and digital transformation.
