ThoughtWire, a Canadian healthcare technology company, needed to detect early patient deterioration and pre-empt cardiac arrest while securing sensitive health data. To address this, ThoughtWire moved its EarlyWarning application to Microsoft Azure and leveraged Azure Active Directory, Azure SQL Database and Microsoft Power BI to deliver real-time analytics and clinician alerts.

Using Microsoft Power BI alongside Azure services, ThoughtWire implemented a real-time monitoring and alerting solution that analyzes patient vitals, notifies clinicians, and mobilizes the right staff at the earliest sign of deterioration. The Microsoft Power BI–enabled deployment improved hospital responsiveness, helped reduce the number of code blue calls, and strengthened privacy and security for protected health information—ultimately helping prevent critical events and save lives.
