The Wonderful Company - Customer Case Study

The Wonderful Company, a $5 billion consumer goods firm headquartered in Los Angeles with roughly 10,000 employees, faced fragmented data sources and slow, inflexible reporting across finance, farming, manufacturing and sales. In 2019 under Director of IT Dhiraj Chhajer, the company evaluated solutions and chose Microsoft Power BI (with Azure infrastructure) to deliver a scalable, flexible, and AI-capable BI platform that could support real-time and self-service analytics.

The vendor implemented a data pipeline feeding a data lake and an Azure-hosted data warehouse, and rolled out Microsoft Power BI reports and dashboards—including live order fulfillment, ad hoc analysis with the AI-powered decomposition tree, and focused dashboards for sales, inventory roll forward, maintenance spend and revenue. The new architecture enabled real-time reporting, seamless addition of IoT and plant automation sources, broader KPI coverage, and faster data-driven decisions, while delivering what The Wonderful Company described as the lowest total cost of ownership.
