System C, a UK health‑care IT provider whose Medway patient administration and EPR system is used across 23 NHS Trusts, faced pockets of degraded performance and poor user experience as the platform grew in complexity — for example slow letter generation and lag on the patient reception screen. To validate and extend their own fixes, System C engaged Microsoft Power BI alongside Microsoft Services (Premier Support for Developers) and Azure expertise to identify deeper optimisations and cloud‑friendly design patterns.

Working jointly, Microsoft Services PSfD ran on‑site SQL tracing and code reviews, led a hackathon to explore Azure micro‑services, and recommended hardware, OS and database improvements; System C also adopted a micro‑service approach and used Microsoft Power BI for reporting. The collaboration delivered measurable reductions in application and database response times, strong telemetry and positive user feedback, faster feature delivery with zero‑downtime upgrades, and a scalable hybrid cloud path forward — with Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Services instrumental in achieving the results.
