Suffolk, a large U.S. construction firm, needed to modernize how it coordinates job sites, protects crews, and manages thousands of materials and tasks—challenges amplified by hurricanes and the COVID‑19 pandemic. To become a dispersed, mobile workforce and secure sensitive health and project data, Suffolk adopted Microsoft Power BI as part of a broader Microsoft 365 toolset (Teams, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Forms) to centralize collaboration, reporting, and safety workflows.
Using Microsoft Power BI dashboards integrated with Teams, Power Automate, Forms, thermal cameras, and Power Apps, Suffolk automated screening, issue tracking, and task management across sites. The Microsoft Power BI–enabled solution cut hurricane‑prep time by up to half (hours instead of days), reduced worker‑screening from about an hour to a fraction of that time, deployed Teams to 80% of employees, and rolled out 70 thermal cameras—improving uptime, security, and real‑time decision making across projects.
