Steel company eliminates hardware costs, streamlines IT, and gains mobile productivity in the cloud

Steeledale, a Kutana Steel Company and one of South Africa’s largest reinforcing-steel suppliers, faced unreliable phone lines, frequent power outages, and a fragmented IT environment across 15 branches that hampered collaboration and visibility. To solve this, Steeledale and partner Seidor Networks migrated core systems to the Microsoft 365 cloud—deploying Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Skype for Business, Windows 10, Office apps and analytics with Microsoft Power BI.

Using Microsoft Power BI and the Microsoft 365 suite, the vendor delivered cloud email, unified administration, Skype video calling, SharePoint workflows, and Power BI analytics, enabling remote work and automated supply-chain processes. The move cut hardware costs by more than USD 22,000 in the first half of 2018, reduced employee onboarding time by 99% (from days to 5–10 minutes), improved mobile productivity and security, and reduced travel and phone costs.
