Case Study: QMerit achieves optimized workforce allocation and real-time performance insights with Microsoft Power BI

A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Preview of the QMerit Case Study

Startup brings science to workforce allocation

QMerit, an Irvine-based startup, built an enterprise-grade cloud platform to allocate and motivate a complex mix of direct employees, contract workers, and subcontractors. Facing challenges around matching the right worker to the right job, measuring performance, and meeting strict security and scalability needs, QMerit chose Microsoft Power BI alongside Microsoft Azure services (Azure App Service, Azure Service Fabric, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, and others) to enable rapid, secure, and data-driven workforce management.

Using Microsoft Power BI and Azure, QMerit deployed a modular platform with APIs, mobile apps, HIPAA-compliant interfaces, and built-in analytics; development moved in two-week sprints so two teams can deliver new capabilities every week. The solution delivered measurable outcomes—launched within a year, secured BMW of North America as a customer for the BMW Installation Services platform, and introduced the QMerit Contribution Index (QCI) to score and compare installers—demonstrating faster time-to-market, objective performance measurement, and clear business impact.
