Sri Lankan insurance company sets up a modern workplace for growth

AIA Sri Lanka, a large insurer with about 3,500 Wealth Planners and 110 offices, faced rising complexity from distributed teams, costly travel for short meetings, and fragmented communication and storage. To modernize its workplace and protect customer data, AIA partnered with Microsoft technologies—deploying Microsoft 365 and Teams and planning analytics with Microsoft Power BI—to create a scalable, secure digital platform.

Using Microsoft 365 and Teams as the core collaboration tools (and building analytics and dashboards with Microsoft Power BI on Azure), AIA trained over 5,000 people, enabled seamless remote work with almost zero downtime during COVID‑19, and accelerated regional support. The Microsoft Power BI–enabled roadmap and Teams rollout delivered measurable impact: 16% sales growth in pilot provinces, up to 75% reduction in meeting expenses, average meeting time cut from 60 to 45 minutes, and daily Teams usage of five to six hours.
