A Microsoft Power BI Case Study
Hirdaramani Group, a large Sri Lankan apparel manufacturer producing roughly 15 million garments a month, faced slow, paper-based quality management that delayed reporting (reports took up to half a day) and risked costly cut-to-ship losses. To gain real-time visibility and move decision-making off historical data, the Group worked with partner H One and adopted Microsoft technologies, including Azure Analysis Services and Microsoft Power BI, to digitize its quality processes.
H One implemented Res.Q, a cloud-based, device-agnostic quality management system built on Azure and powered by Microsoft Power BI for interactive dashboards and real-time analytics. The solution enabled defect capture on tablets, supervisor apps, and planning portals, cutting report generation from half a day to minutes, accelerating corrective action, reducing wastage and improving the cut-to-ship ratio, and allowing targeted training and faster, data-driven decisions across Hirdaramani’s factories.
