Ecolab, a global leader in water, hygiene, and energy technologies, needed to help industrial customers reduce water use and prove the financial case for water‑neutral operations across thousands of sites. To capture real‑time information from more than 36,000 water systems and deliver actionable intelligence to field teams, Ecolab partnered with Microsoft Power BI and the broader Microsoft cloud stack — including Azure IoT Hub, Azure IoT solution accelerators, Azure Machine Learning, Dynamics 365, Office 365, and Surface devices.

By feeding Nalco 3D TRASAR sensor data into Azure and visualizing insights with Microsoft Power BI and Dynamics 365, Ecolab established centralized analytics, real‑time monitoring, and mobile access for 47,000 employees across 100+ countries. The Microsoft Power BI–enabled solution aggregated data from 36,000 systems across five continents, helped quantify customer ROI, identify improvement opportunities, and move customers closer to net‑zero water usage while driving ongoing reductions in water, energy, and operating costs.
