Social services nonprofit Barnardo’s enhances client support through Microsoft technology

Barnardo’s, a UK-based nonprofit serving children and families, needed to replace outdated, unstable legacy systems so frontline staff could work more efficiently during rising demand and the COVID-19 pandemic. Using Microsoft Power BI alongside Microsoft 365, the Microsoft Cloud, and Surface devices, Barnardo’s aimed to improve field operations, data accuracy, and reporting for funders.

Microsoft Power BI helped Barnardo’s collect and analyze live data from frontline services, create timely reports for funders, and better match clients with the right partner organizations. The results included saving staff an estimated two to three hours per day on administrative work, improving service delivery, supporting a four-month extension to a Department for Education contract, and helping Barnardo’s reach an additional 57,000 young people with vital social services.
