Wrench Solutions, a project management information provider for engineering and construction, wanted to extend its SmartProject platform to a secure, cloud-based model so infrastructure clients could coordinate stakeholders, prevent cost overruns, and deliver projects on time and within budget. To do this it moved SmartProject onto Microsoft Azure and integrated analytics using Microsoft Power BI to give users secure, accessible access to project data and reporting.

Using Microsoft Power BI, Wrench built dashboards and customizable reports fed from Azure data sources so clients can monitor progress, control costs, and make informed decisions in real time. The Azure-powered SmartProject unifies collaboration and shifts costs from CAPEX to project-level OPEX, has been deployed on more than 9,000 projects across 26 countries, and drove increased cloud adoption—especially during the pandemic—helping clients reduce overruns and improve on-time delivery.
