SLB energizes collaboration across its global business with Teams and Teams Phone

SLB, a global energy and resources company operating in more than 120 countries, needed a better way to keep its highly mobile workforce connected across offices, remote field locations, and customer sites. The company wanted a more consistent collaboration experience for employees who were using a mix of tools to communicate, share files, and hold meetings, especially as remote work increased during COVID-19. Microsoft Power BI was used to help track the rollout of the new collaboration solution.

Microsoft Power BI supported SLB’s transition to Microsoft Teams and Teams Phone by providing visibility into the migration, helping the team monitor which users had moved successfully. The deployment was rolled out in weekly waves of 10,000 people, organized by collaborative groups rather than location, and the change delivered a “single pane of glass” for chat, voice, video, and PSTN calling. SLB reported time savings, lower telephone charges, reduced travel costs, and a smaller carbon footprint, while also enabling more flexible and connected work across the organization.
