Setur, Turkey’s first duty‑free shopping service, needed to modernize how it forecasts passenger demand, manages inventory and schedules staff across 24‑hour airport operations. Relying on personal forecasts and limited data led to large errors during peak periods and non‑scalable processes, so Setur turned to Microsoft Power BI and the broader Microsoft Azure stack (including Azure Data Factory and Azure Machine Learning) to build a data‑driven, scalable forecasting and reporting solution.

Using Microsoft Power BI together with Azure Data Factory and Azure Machine Learning, Setur moved its data to Azure, quickly developed and tested machine‑learning models, and created reporting and operational dashboards. The solution delivered about 90% accuracy in sales and passenger forecasting, markedly reduced customer complaints about missing products and crowded service areas, and produced a 5–10% increase in sales while benefiting from faster deployment and low initial investment through Microsoft Power BI and Azure.
