Seattle Visiting Nurse Association transforms vaccine delivery process using Microsoft Power Platform

Seattle Visiting Nurse Association (SVNA), a family-owned Washington health provider and the state's largest community mass immunizer, needed to replace paper-based clinic processes during the COVID-19 pandemic to protect staff and patients, speed up registration, and improve billing. To meet those challenges they turned to Microsoft Power BI and the broader Microsoft Power Platform—using Microsoft Dataverse for Teams, Power Apps, and Power Automate—to build a contactless, data-driven model for drive-through and pop-up clinics.

Working with Signetic, SVNA implemented a Dataverse-backed solution with a public booking site, a Power Apps canvas app for clinicians, a model-driven admin app, and Power Automate flows; Microsoft Power BI was later planned for analytics integration. Delivered in eight weeks and rolled out to 64 clinics, the solution enabled SVNA to vaccinate 40,000 patients in 2020 (the same as 2019), cut per-patient processing from ~20 minutes to 30 seconds, improved throughput by 90%, saved over $50,000 in billing expenses, and reduced administrative headcount—while supporting large-scale COVID-19 vaccination sites administering thousands of doses per week.
