A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Preview of the Seadrill Case Study

Seadrill - Customer Case Study

Seadrill, a global leader in deep-water drilling with about 6,000 employees, faced the challenge of turning massive volumes of rig-generated data into timely, actionable insight to predict failures, optimise equipment performance and improve operational decision-making. To tackle this, Seadrill partnered with Microsoft Power BI, leveraging Power BI alongside Azure and Microsoft’s data warehousing technologies to unify safety, operations and financial data.

Microsoft Power BI implemented real-time interactive dashboards, Azure analytics and Azure Machine Learning–driven inventory optimisation to give Seadrill a single view of operations and spending. The solution is live on six rigs, enabling clearer customer negotiations by proving rig performance, improving stock management and reducing maintenance costs—delivering measurable operational improvements and a competitive edge.
