County of Riverside’s Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder office, led by Peter Aldana and serving roughly 375 employees, faced mountains of paperwork and lacked timely, transparent insight into productivity and spending. Reports were manually compiled in Excel, creating delays and room for error, so the office turned to Microsoft Power BI to modernize operations and demonstrate fiscal stewardship to taxpayers.
Microsoft Power BI was deployed to automate dashboards and reporting, providing always-up-to-date, easy-to-understand metrics that revealed productivity trends, enabled data-driven hiring and spending decisions, and reduced manual errors. As a result, the County of Riverside improved operational efficiency and transparency, strengthened employee oversight and retention, and is positioned to develop citizen-facing reports and potentially lead a statewide Power BI initiative.
