Case Study: Ricoh achieves data-driven work-style transformation with Microsoft Power BI

A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Preview of the Ricoh Case Study

Ricoh launches internal digital transformation using Workplace Analytics and brings joy to working

Ricoh, a global leader in multifunction devices, needed a way to measure and sustain its companywide work‑style innovation and to expose gaps between employee perceptions and actual behavior. To do this it adopted Microsoft solutions—including Workplace Analytics, Microsoft 365 and Teams—and used Microsoft Power BI to visualize and share insights across the organization.

Using Workplace Analytics integrated with internal HR data and Power BI dashboards on a SharePoint portal, Ricoh automated KPI tracking (meeting time, participant counts, focus time) and rolled out guidance and e‑learning tied to the data. Implemented rapidly (April–July 2020), the Microsoft Power BI‑backed solution clarified KPIs, reduced reliance on surveys, spurred data‑driven improvements, accelerated Teams adoption and helped the Workflow Innovation Center cut email volume at twice the rate of the wider company.
