Global Strategy Group, a U.S. public affairs and research firm, needed a clearer, real‑time view of project revenue, staffing utilization, and a way to disentangle forecast sales from work‑in‑progress after relying on spreadsheets and an increasingly costly Salesforce setup. To address this, GSG moved to Microsoft solutions—licensing Dynamics 365 for Project Service Automation and Dynamics 365 for Sales—and began deploying Microsoft Power BI, with implementation support from partner Socius and Microsoft FastTrack.

Using Microsoft Power BI alongside Dynamics 365 for Project Service Automation, GSG now has consolidated dashboards that group related projects, track costs and hours, capture loss reasons, and reveal staff availability across its 85 employees—enabling better forecasting and staffing decisions. The switch cut licensing costs by 34%, freeing funds for further technology projects (including additional Power BI rollouts) and delivering faster, more accurate reporting and planning.
