Ports of Jersey - Customer Case Study

Ports of Jersey, the island’s gateway managing the airport, harbour and Coastguard services, faced a major infrastructure and cultural challenge after moving out of Civil Service ownership in 2015: migrate systems off government platforms and engage 420 distributed staff across operational and office roles. They turned to Microsoft Power BI and the wider Office 365 suite — including Teams, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate and StaffHub — to give everyone access to the same portal and tools.

Using Microsoft Power BI alongside Office 365 tools, Ports of Jersey rolled out Teams, StaffHub, Power Apps and Power Automate to drive a cultural shift, improve collaboration and streamline processes. The change delivered measurable impact: uptake is strong, productivity and engagement have risen, and the organisation has saved 1.7 million minutes and over £800,000 in cash, freeing staff to focus on customers and safety.
