PMI-MN, one of the largest Project Management Institute chapters, needed to better engage members, consolidate disparate marketing and event tools, and track participation to drive more relevant communications. With partner TrimaxSecure, the chapter implemented Dynamics 365 Marketing, Sales, and Customer Service, used Microsoft Teams for virtual events, and employed Microsoft Power BI to visualize member data and support speaker selection and event insights.

By combining Dynamics 365’s events portal, marketing automation and customer-service tools with Microsoft Power BI analytics, PMI-MN centralized member data, automated targeted campaigns, reduced support requests, and sped volunteer workflows. The result was significantly higher engagement and lower costs — an almost 90% increase in retained events revenue, PDD event management costs reduced from a projected >$110,000 to $12,000, 4,000 knowledge-article accesses in 12 months, and measurable increases in event registration and participation.
