Case Study: Fermax gains actionable customer insights and enhances user experience with Microsoft Power BI

A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Preview of the Fermax Case Study

Opening new doors for customers through IoT technology

Fermax, a Valencia‑based manufacturer of door entry systems, needed visibility into how end customers actually use its products to evolve from a B2B supplier into a customer‑centric services business. To capture and analyze device telemetry from its new DUOX WiFi Monitor, Fermax built a connected ecosystem on Microsoft Azure and Azure IoT Hub and turned to Microsoft Power BI to make sense of customer behavior and usage patterns.

Using Azure IoT Hub to provision and stream device data into cloud services and Microsoft Power BI dashboards to visualize it, Fermax analyzed six months of usage across more than 15,000 units with over 14,000 registered users — uncovering more than 2 million calls diverted to smartphones and detailed metrics like call frequency and duration. Those Microsoft Power BI insights have improved the user experience, enabled targeted customer communications, informed capacity planning (backed by AKS microservices), and opened the door to new services such as digital keys and remote diagnostics.
