Newell Brands - Customer Case Study

Newell Brands, a global consumer goods company, faced limited visibility into how consumers interacted with its many name brands because product data lived across 47 siloed ERP systems and sales were routed through retailers. To unify insights, Newell worked with Microsoft technologies — including Microsoft Power BI alongside Azure services such as Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, and Azure Analysis Services — to build a Digital Data Platform that could consolidate data and surface analytics across the enterprise.

Using Microsoft Power BI and the Azure-based platform, Newell centralized ingest, storage, prep, modeling, and reporting to deliver rapid, self-serve insights. The solution produced eight live analytics solutions used by nearly 600 employees (with 11 more underway), cut infrastructure costs by retiring legacy stacks, and turned multi-day queries into near-instant answers across millions of consumer interactions — enabling faster decisions, better marketing and in‑store placement, and improved product innovation.
