A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Preview of the Kotahi Case Study

New Zealand’s supply chain leader Kotahi unlocks new opportunities with AI

Kotahi, a New Zealand supply chain collaboration leader, needed to modernize its technology to simplify import/export, create a single core data set, and deliver faster, lower‑risk services for exporters and importers. To meet these challenges the company adopted Microsoft technologies—including Microsoft Power BI alongside Azure, Azure Data Lake, Azure Machine Learning, PowerApps and Dynamics 365—to unify data, forecasting and customer-facing products.

Working with Microsoft Power BI and the broader Microsoft stack, Kotahi built a data‑driven platform (data lake, Databricks integration, PowerApps interfaces and Power BI dashboards) that powers demand forecasting, a chilled‑container report and a streamlined booking UI. The solution delivered measurable impact: 40x faster demand forecasting, customer decision time cut by more than 50%, booking time reduced by over half, increased transparency across the supply chain, and new revenue‑generating services supported by Microsoft Power BI.
