A Microsoft Power BI Case Study
Grupo Bimbo, a Mexican global bakery leader with more than 133,000 employees, 197 plants and operations in 33 countries, faced the challenge of digitally integrating a sprawling workforce and maintaining business continuity amid rapid change (including COVID‑19). To modernize collaboration and analytics the company adopted Microsoft cloud solutions — including Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Teams, Office 365, Power Automate, SharePoint Online and Exchange Online — to digitize communication, project management and reporting.
Microsoft Power BI and the broader Microsoft suite were deployed as an end‑to‑end collaboration and automation platform, with Teams designated as the global collaboration channel and Power Automate used to streamline approvals and routine workflows. The implementation centralized operations and improved transparency and productivity: nearly 28,000 employees use Teams today, about 24,000 use SharePoint, ~29,000 use Exchange Online and thousands more use Office mobile apps, enabling faster project approvals, automated processes, virtual assistants for HR/IT and continued business operations during the pandemic.
