MHP, a Ukraine‑headquartered food and agrotech group with over 30,000 employees, faced the challenge of strategically allocating 2 million tons of grain and oilseeds across dispersed fields and storage sites while avoiding shortages, excess stock, and human error. To automate complex, decentralized planning and scale compute resources, MHP partnered with Microsoft Power BI and other Microsoft services, including Azure, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, Power Apps, and Microsoft 365 E5.

Using a grain balance management solution built on Azure with a Power BI interface (and a Power Apps mobile input tool), MHP can run more than 10 million scenario combinations in about 15 minutes—down from two weeks and a 15‑person effort—enabling faster, more accurate allocation decisions. The Microsoft Power BI‑enabled system eliminated manual errors, improved cybersecurity and scalability, and delivers roughly USD 200,000 in annual savings (with some scenarios exceeding USD 1 million).
