Memphis-Shelby County Schools needed faster, cheaper ways to collect and act on schoolwide data. Although the district was already using Microsoft Power BI to surface insights, data entry and collection were cumbersome and legacy systems were costly, so the district sought a high‑ROI, low‑code solution to support diverse reporting and operational needs.

Using Microsoft Power BI together with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Azure SQL, Microsoft Dataverse), the district’s Strategic Programming and Innovation team built apps for caseload management, behavior prevention, and charter compliance. The vendor-enabled solution increased transparency and auditability, delivered rapid, low‑cost deployments compared with replacement bids, and the behavior prevention system alone is estimated to save about $300,000 annually.
