MEDNAX-Affiliated Company Boosts Efficiency of Newborn Hearing Program with StaffHub

MEDNAX, a Sunrise, Florida–based provider of maternal‑fetal, newborn, and pediatric subspecialty services (through affiliate Pediatrix), faced mobile scheduling and staffing challenges for newborn hearing screeners working across 400+ sites in 30 states. To modernize the workplace they adopted Microsoft 365 cloud services—replacing a legacy calendaring system with the mobile-first scheduling app Microsoft StaffHub—and began using Microsoft Power BI as part of the Microsoft ecosystem for reporting and analytics.

By deploying Microsoft StaffHub to more than 2,000 screeners and coordinators in a three‑month phased rollout (with FastTrack support for a 300‑facility phase), MEDNAX enabled real‑time mobile schedules, easy shift swaps, stronger access controls, faster onboarding, and improved staff engagement—helping ensure coverage for screening more than 850,000 babies annually and reducing administrative inefficiencies. MEDNAX is also rolling out Microsoft Power BI dashboards to give coordinators drill‑down workload insights, further improving decision making and operational efficiency.
