Media company generates insights faster with Azure Synapse Analytics

JOT Internet Media (JOT), a Spain-based professional services media company with 1–49 employees, analyzes more than 1.6 million campaigns and 8.6 billion keywords and ingests over 460 GB of new data daily across 19 Azure blobs. Facing bottlenecks in data throughput, long processing times, and difficulty delivering quality insights, JOT adopted Microsoft technologies—including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage and Microsoft Power BI—to modernize its analytics stack.

JOT migrated more than 7 TB of historical data to Azure Synapse Analytics, used Azure Data Factory and PolyBase to automate ingestion and historicizing, and built KPIs and reports surfaced via Microsoft Power BI. The new solution cut data download and processing time from as long as a week to under seven hours daily, delivering faster, up-to-date insights for account managers and measurable improvements in throughput, processing time, and analytic quality.
