To consolidate and modernize its data environment, Maritz turned to Microsoft Power BI alongside Azure services (Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Storage) to centralize data and improve insights for its customers.
Using Microsoft Power BI with an Azure-based Maritz Personalization Cloud—Azure SQL Data Warehouse for scalable storage and compute, Azure Data Factory for orchestration, and Azure Storage for staging—Maritz created a template-driven ingestion and analytics pipeline. The solution cut client onboarding to under two hours, reduced data-warehouse costs by about 75% versus on‑premises, shifted analysts’ time to 80–90% analysis, enabled quick scaling from ~400 to 1,000 DWUs, and delivered measurable business impact (for one client a “move the middle” program lifted sales five times more than a top honors program).
