Major mineral water producer boosts productivity and saves costs by creating reports in the cloud

IDS Borjomi Ukraine, a major producer of natural mineral water, struggled with slow on‑premises analytics: generating daily country sales reports took 6.5 hours, blocking timely decision‑making and making on‑premises scale‑up cost‑prohibitive. To modernize reporting and improve scalability, the company adopted Microsoft Power BI alongside Azure Synapse Analytics and engaged Microsoft and partner Cloud Services for migration and infrastructure assessment.

The vendor implemented a cloud data warehouse on Azure Synapse Analytics with reports served through Microsoft Power BI, consolidating disparate systems and replacing the OLAP cube. As a result, model refresh time fell from 6.5 hours to 45 minutes, reports are available near real‑time at the start of the day, about 350 employees gained at least two productive hours daily, security improved via Active Directory, and the company cut infrastructure costs by more than 30%.
