A Microsoft Power BI Case Study
VLI, a fast-growing Brazilian logistics company that oversees railways, ports, and terminals, faced fragmented, locally stored project data across eight directorates that limited collaboration and portfolio visibility. To unify reporting and improve decision-making, VLI engaged partners and deployed Microsoft Project Online and SharePoint for cloud-based project management and used Microsoft Power BI for interactive reporting and dashboards.
By standardizing metrics, moving projects into Project Online and SharePoint, and visualizing results with Microsoft Power BI, VLI gained real-time portfolio visibility, drill-down risk and schedule insights, and faster access to project data. The solution eliminated days of manual report-building, freed staff to focus on project work, and delivered more than USD65,000 in annual savings on licensing and server costs while strengthening oversight to support VLI’s growth targets.
