Liberty Mutual launches an IT transformation

Liberty Mutual Insurance, a global insurer with more than 50,000 employees and 900 locations, needed to modernize its IT organization to stay ahead of digital disruptors and enable faster, more collaborative product development. To achieve this, Liberty Mutual partnered with Microsoft technologies—most notably Microsoft Power BI—along with Office 365 and Azure to put analytics and collaboration tools into the hands of business users across the company.

Using Microsoft Power BI, Liberty Mutual opened millions of rows of data for self-service analysis, giving Claims, Legal, Reinsurance and HR teams dashboards and KPIs for immediate insights; paired with Office 365 and Azure Active Directory for secure, mobile document access and simplified identity management, this broadened analytic access beyond analysts, increased global collaboration, and helped the company respond faster to market changes. Microsoft Power BI thus played a central role in accelerating innovation and scaling data-driven decision making across the enterprise.
