Leading real estate company takes control of energy use

Vasakronan, Sweden’s largest real estate company, faced the challenge of millions of sensor data points spread across up to 200 commercial properties and multiple closed systems that didn’t communicate. To take control of this data and drive its climate‑neutral ambition, Vasakronan partnered with Idun ProptechOS built on Azure and adopted Azure IoT Hub, Azure IoT Edge and Microsoft Power BI to consolidate and analyze building data.

Using Microsoft Power BI alongside Azure IoT Hub and Azure IoT Edge, the vendor integrated disparate sensors into a single, open platform that automatically collects, collates, and visualizes real‑time data. The solution has vastly reduced the manual hours and risk of error in LEED certification work, enabled portfolio‑wide energy monitoring and pilot projects (indoor climate, solar production, hourly consumption), and unlocked actionable insights to optimize heating, cooling and lighting across Vasakronan’s buildings.
