Leading Media Company Gains New Insights with Cloud-Based Microsoft BI Solution

Condé Nast, a global media company with 20 print and digital brands, needed faster, centralized insight into brand and consumer performance but struggled to pull together disparate data from more than 10 vendor sources and multiple reporting tools. To address this, Condé Nast adopted a cloud-based Microsoft Power BI solution (building on earlier use of PowerPivot for Excel) to give editorial, sales, and analytics teams self-service access to integrated data.

Using Microsoft Power BI, the team created interactive, shared reports and natural‑language Q&A queries that unify data from Omniture, MRI, Kantar and others, starting with Vogue and Wired. The deployment simplified reporting, deepened insight, and empowered users to find answers themselves—cutting redundant support/reporting requests by about 30%—while improving business agility and faster decision making.
