A Microsoft Power BI Case Study

Preview of the Larsen & Toubro Case Study

Larsen & Toubro - Customer Case Study

Larsen & Toubro, a USD 21 billion technology, engineering and construction leader, needed real-time visibility into the health, location, utilization and productivity of its vast equipment fleet (35,000+ assets across 450 sites) to drive faster, data-driven operational decisions. To meet this challenge it deployed the Asset Insight connected equipment platform built on Microsoft Azure IoT and AI, with business reporting and role-based dashboards delivered using Microsoft Power BI.

Asset Insight uses Azure IoT Hub, Stream Analytics, HDInsight and other Azure PaaS services to stream telemetry from equipment into analytics pipelines and Microsoft Power BI dashboards; today more than 11,000 machines across 450 sites are connected. The Microsoft Power BI–enabled solution gave managers real-time alerts and granular insights that improved equipment productivity and capacity utilization, enabled right‑sizing and sharing of assets, reduced fuel use and capital expenditure, and sped maintenance and operational decisions.
